Incident Type: Medical Assist
Stopping for a red light, generally allows us a couple of minutes to catch our breaths and just relax at times, depending on the type of day we're having. Unless of course, we happen to be in the right place... at the right time and are asked to provide roadside assistance.
Some strange guy darts out from the sidewalk into traffic, walks up to the right side of our rig and bangs on the door while we are stopped at the red light and asks, "Hey Sirs, can you check my pulse?"
We simply pointed to the sidewalk and asked that he return to it while we pulled up and along the curb. Our Cpt. jumped from the rig, checks his pulse and nods his head at the guy and says: "Yup, you're good to go Sir. Anything else we can do for you?"
Some strange guy replies back: "Can you look at my feet?"
Thankfully, at that very moment, a call came in before he could show our Cpt. who knows what. Seriously. Providing roadside assistance is one thing, but NOT while at a red light... in the middle of traffic.
Seriously, I love my job, no two days are ever quite the same.
Some days the streets really spook me at times!
