Fire Hall Bread Sticks!
Have to say, that these Fire Hall Bread Sticks are perfect for making at the fire hall as they are quick and easy and very addicting!
Ingredients:
3 1/2 cups of flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup of butter
1 1/2 cups of warm water
1 package of quick rise yeast
2 tbsp sugar
garlic salt
Parmesan cheese
Parsley for garnish
Mix together the flour, salt, sugar and yeast. Next, add your warm water to the mixture. If the dough remains sticky, try adding 1/4 or 1/2 cup more of flour. If you are going to knead by hand, you will need to do so for about 10 minutes. Otherwise, I recommend using the dough hook on your Kitchen-aid mixer. FYI: If you plan on using your Kitchen-aid mixer to mix the dough, I would suggest that you place your Kitchen-aid mixer facing the wall - the damn thing has a mind of its own and it will go for a walk about on your counter. Once you have finished mixing/kneading the dough, let the dough sit for a few minutes before rolling.
In a smaller bowl, melt the 1/2 cup of butter. Pour half of the butter onto the bottom of your pan. On a floured surface, roll our your dough so that it's the same size of the pan. Transfer the rolled out dough to the pan. Try to roll the dough out to the very edges of the pan. Pour the rest of the melted butter on top of the dough. Now that the butter has been spread across the dough, sprinkle on the Parmesan cheese, Parsley and garlic salt to your liking. We like lots! Using a pizza cutter, cut the dough into bread stick sizes.
Place the pan in your 'unheated' (as the oven heats, your dough will rise) oven and bake at 375 for about 15-20 minutes.
Once done, let cool for a few minutes and serve!
